Laval is a quiet hamlet with around 160 residents, yet is only a 5 minute drive (or 30 minutes walk) from the thriving town of Quillan, situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Quillan has several supermarkets, restaurants, shops and a busy regular market each Wednesday, with a quieter market on Saturdays. There is also a train station with trains to Carcassonne and from there to the rest of France.  A bus route goes through Quillan from Carcassonne to Perpignan on the coast.

Quillan also benefits from a cinema, theatre, climbing course with ropes hung between trees, white water rafting and a public outdoor swimming pool.

The holiday home for rent in Aude is well-equipped for a vacation let.  It has a large kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, oven, fridge / freezer and a bathroom with large corner bath with shower, WC and a separate WC near the bedrooms on the 1st floor.
